In Our Community

We are a part of the Harcourts Foundation that was launched in 2008, and Harcourts gold made the very first donation for Australasia. Our gold family supports the Foundation by contributing a portion of their sales income – this has enabled the company to directly contribute to causes within our neighborhoods including Canterbury Charitable Hospital, NZ Spinal Trust, Cholmondeley Children’s Centre & Queenspark Kindergarten.

We are very proud to be members of The Inspire Foundation set up as a charitable trust to recognise and reward extraordinary, talented young Cantabrians.

To qualify, applicants must be aged between 15 and 23 years of age (inclusive as of the 31st January of the applicable year), a resident of Canterbury for at least 3 years with New Zealand Citizenship and have demonstrated extraordinary ability or potential in the areas of Arts, IT, Music, Science, Sport or Community Service.

Assistance comes in the form of grants to fund the widest possible array of requests – such as travel, courses, tuition, equipment, projects or initiatives.

It’s all about making inspired choices for the future of the Canterbury region.

We’re proud to be official supporters of this special organization – KidsCan’s mission is to co-operate with the government, like-minded businesses, and the community to provide food, clothing and basic healthcare in schools in order to help disadvantaged Kiwi kids reach their full potential.

Through KidsCan we also get to make a difference to schools in our local area by providing lunch and other items to Northcote Primary School.

Harcourts gold are an official session sponsor of The Read Aloud Schools Day a festival institution that celebrates writing for children and young adults and brings together some of our best New Zealand authors to inspire youthful readers and writers.

We have been involved for many years and it’s a sponsorship that comes out of the belief that our youth can receive so much joy from books and writing their own stories.

Aviva

The Salvation Army has fought poverty and social and spiritual distress in New Zealand since 1883.

They’ve been there to help more that 120,000 families and individuals in need each year – with budgeting advice, food and clothing assistance, life skills programmes and other comfort and support.

The whole team at Harcourts gold contribute each year by donating numerous food items at Christmas and blankets and warm clothing in the colder months.

City Mission helps anyone who needs it regardless of their circumstances. Through education and training they help struggling people re-join society and gain the self-esteem and happiness that comes from work, independence and permanent housing.

The team at Harcourts gold have donated goods to the Christchurch City Mission including over 100 blankets and towels in our 2019 blanket drive.
