Monterey Place had been on the market for three months with Mike Pero and our owners failed to receive a single opportunity to sell throughout that time. The property’s exterior cladding (plaster over concrete block) could have been easily mistaken for other less- desirable construction materials – hence we believed the marketing of the property required some very clear messages, and the headline ‘Solid Construction – Pursue with Confidence’ was used. We also advised our clients to invest in a building inspection report upfront so as to remove that barrier for prospective purchasers to bid at the auction. The marketing campaign comprised mainly of strong online upgrades, including Trade Me Property’s new Premium Listing feature. A home stylist was also engaged to freshen up the vendor’s existing furniture. While we only had the one bidder at the auction, there were two other parties showing conditional interest. The auction process and a proactive marketing approach ultimately delivered a result for our sellers.
