Christchurch Market Report
Amidst the unprecedented times of COVID-19, the team at Harcourts gold has once again been recognised as the very best in the business. In an awards event held online – a sign of the times! – Harcourts International recognised gold Real Estate’s Papanui Office as the Number 1 office across the nine countries in which Harcourts operates. The Harcourts gold Franchise was also ranked in 5th position.
The ‘virtual’ awards function was then topped off with Mark O’Loughlin placed 9th, Mary Turnbull 4th and Cameron Bailey 1st out of 6,400 sales consultants who work for Harcourts internationally. This was Cameron’s third time in a row as Number 1 international sales consultant for Harcourts!
As we navigate our way through Alert Level 2, the team are seeing good numbers in the marketplace with new properties coming to the market and open home activity increasing. In alignment with this is the essential focus on ensuring that all health and safety protocols are maintained.
The Christchurch marketplace has a resilience embedded into it, due in part to the earthquakes, so buyers and sellers in our region are potentially less perturbed by the media or the circumstances. Our region is less reliant on tourism and international students than some others, and buyers and sellers in this area have remained relatively upbeat about the market going forward. Over the coming months, there is an expectation that sales volumes may reduce, but with more than 200 new listings coming onto the market in April, this may not come to pass. Looking forward, median prices are expected to stay relatively stable.
The market will always deliver great results if you select the right consultant – and one who will provide you with all the information necessary to help you make an informed decision. The team at gold continues to bring exceptional properties to the market: if you would like to experience a gold campaign for your property, please feel free to call.
Stay safe as you potentially extend your bubble.
